- Measure the piece at its widest points
- Measure every doorway, turn, and stair landing
- Remove contents and personal property
- Share parking, elevator, and loading details
Strip and identify the pieces
Remove bedding and personal items. Count the mattress, box spring, foundation, frame, and headboard separately. Confirm the mattress size instead of estimating from the room.
Keep the route clear
Move small objects, lamps, and loose rugs out of the carrying path. Keep children and pets away from the route. If the mattress has moisture, pests, or biological contamination, disclose it before scheduling so the provider can determine whether it falls within scope.
Share access before pickup
Give the floor number, stair count, elevator size or booking requirement, doorway pinch points, and loading distance. Managed buildings may set service-elevator or loading-zone rules; those rules belong to the property and should be confirmed with management.
